You might as well just stop reading and do yourself a favor and GO HERE!! This is THE BEST taco spot in PV hands down. We stopped at several, and they even said Panchos is better.
The place opens at 6pm, and gets busy very quick. If you have a party of 2-3, your wait will be pretty short. However, if you come with more, expect a longer wait. No matter the line, wait. You won't be disappointed for having to wait for the quality and taste of the food.
The prices are beyond cheap. The first night I stopped in I went nuts on ordering just for me, and the server had to actually tell me to take things off because it would be way too much food. I ended up getting a chorizo quesadilla and stuffed avocados. The stuffed avocados are just al pastor shoved inside avocados served with 4 tortillas, which was perfect since I wanted al pastor tacos.
I finished the quesadilla, but couldn't finish all of the avocados. It was just way too much food! Thank goodness I listened to him! Best part is everything was about $10! -

If you're in Puerto Vallarta you have to go to Pancho's Takos. All of their tacos are good but their very best is the al pastor tacos (about $1 each) with the meat cut fresh off the rotating spit. All tacos come with three sauces, some pickled veggies, and fresh lime wedges along with a big bowl of fresh onion and cilantro.
I prefer to go late as its gets very busy when it first opens (I believe around 6pm). It is not unusual for a line to start forming and it's not a very big space. If you sit outside, try to get the seating away from the spit. We were the closest table to it last night, and by the end of the dinner, while I was certainly full, the right side of my face had melted off. Lastly, make sure to grab a Pancho's Takos shirt to complete your tourist wardrobe. They're only about $7 and actually do make a good souvenir. -

You absolutely cannot go to PVR and leave without trying Pancho's Tacos! I went here on my first night and I kept going back because of how good it was.
I'll keep this brief so you can go straight ahead to the taco stuffing.
This place is a late night spot open from 6pm to 2am and there is generally a wait. Go earlier in the day to avoid long lines and I dont recommend groups larger than 4 -- perfect size is 2 since the tables outside are small. I have seen groups of 6 but it looked cramped. And if you are stuck in the line, they allow you to order beers while waiting.
My go to items are the adobada tacos and the sauteed mushrooms with cheese fondue. I typically get the following and be full:
- 2 adobaba tacos
- 1 volcanes (adobada with grilled cheese on a grilled tortilla)
- Mushroom cheese to share
Also, get the Pancho's margarita (see pic), you won't be disappointed!
Also sauce breakdown in order of increasing heat:
Creamy green sauce -- Mild (favorite)
Brown sauce -- Medium
Orange sauce -- Hot
Mango habanero and onion salsa -- Extremely HOT (proceed with caution) -

This place is a Puerto Vallarta gem. Probably one of the cheapest but BEST meals I had while on my trip in July. Although there is a line and quite a wait, it was worth it. A server comes out while you are waiting in line and will serve you a drink if you want one also, which I thought was nice. I ordered a beer, so I wasn't complaining. I ordered Al Pastor tacos here because I read they were really good and they were even better than expected.
This place is a must when you are in Puerto Vallarta!
